Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra: Kinda Duke-ish - The Music of Duke Ellington

Drawing from the rich legacy of the music of Duke Ellington, the CJRO will perform his classic compositions in the style of Count Basie, Woody Herman, and many others.

About the CJRO:
The Colorado Jazz Repertory orchestra is Colorado’s premier large jazz ensemble. With everything from big band jazz to exciting modern programs and special performances featuring internationally renowned guest soloists, the CJRO has it all. This Colorado grown ensemble performs tunes from the libraries of Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson, CJRO composers, and many more. Art Bouton, Professor of Saxophone at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, founded the band three years ago with the mission to perform the best music with the best players. Under the direction of Artistic Director, Grammy© nominated trombonist, composer, and educator, Steve Wiest, the band is set to establish a significant national presence.
